Swimming lessons are part of the Grade 4 and 5 physical education curriculum in the Lord Selkirk School Division.
Students will require swimwear, towel and a large, waterproof bag to carry their supplies. All personal items including jackets and footwear are taken poolside by the students. Valuable items are to remain at home.
Classes are held at the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive High School in Selkirk. LSSD buses will transport students to and from swimming classes. Swim classes are delivered by qualified instructors. Students participate in the Swim @ School program. It is structured so students acquire knowledge about their own swimming skills and abilities.
Information as to when the swim program will take place each year will be communicated to families once swim class times are determined.
The next Gr 4 and 5 Swim Program is scheduled for October 2025; our school information letter has been sent home to parents in September.
